Interiors are a little crisper with high graphics settings but, ahem, blizzards look the same, at least to me, on all sizes and at all settings.

Did you try the usual troubleshooting? Reboot, make sure you have plenty of drive space, run TLD by itself, etc.? Then, start lowering the graphics settings? Just simple stuff but you should, I think, be able to run TLD on that configuration.
